I upgraded to the Cisco modem from the SMC one. I am on 100 Mbps and it seems they are pushing me to the 120 plan even though I am grandfathered on the 100 plan now.
I was having a lot of issues with peak times and random slow downs. I phoned in and asked if there was congestion in my area. Tech said no and immediately offered a modem upgrade.
Now when I run shaw's speed test I get a *very* smooth speed profile, varies less then 5 Mbps on a 120-125 Mbpstest result.
Was the SMC screwing stuff up that badly? This new modem is great so far!
Can anyone explain what was happening there, for curiosity's sake?
