Hitron modem randomly loosing connection.

I just got the new Shaw 150 a week ago and they gave me a Hiltron modem that I bridged to my router. Sometime last night my router lost connection to the modem saying the the cable from the wan port was disconnected. In a sleepy state I rebooted the modem remotely and then went and power cycled the modem manually before the router finished rebooting. Now I have had this router working flawlessly with teksavvy for the last 2 years not needing any reboots. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any instability with the Hitlon so far or if this was maybe just a one time thing for me. Hopefully it is cause I run a few services that I sometimes need immediate access to remotely. (I know I should have troubleshooted better and just tried rebooting the modem without touching the router but it was 4 in the morning and I just wanted my phone to quit notifying me)
