I was on internet 30 with the cisco dpc3825+asus n66u router then I switched to internet 150 and, am using the hitron wifi modem. Initially, I was using the hitron modem with my own asus n66u router but, noticed my ping had risen and was unstable, so I connected the hitron modem directly to my computer to see if my router was the problem but, was still had the same high unstable ping. When i was on internet 30 my ping was usually straight 16's to google.com and, now on internet 150 it gets as high as 40 and, its there are big jumps between ping numbers. I've talked with shaw tech support and, they have no clue as to why this is and say everythings fine. You wouldnt expect your ping to increase after switching to a new internet plan that is 5x (download) faster than your previous plan. The strange thing is that ive done a speed test and its what it should be with a direction connection but, cant figure out why my ping has increased and is erratic.
