[AB] Shaw Puma 6 Replacement

Hi Everbody, So I'm a Shaw Internet 150 user in Medicine Hat, the connection has been provisioned with a 'big, bulky & buzzy' Cisco DPC3848V AiO Router that I don't know whether to hate or love... What I do know is that I don't trust it and it has some issues including the highly flawed Puma 6 chipset! My question, can I source another Docsis 3/3.1 modem and get Shaw to adopt it or is their another modem that Shaw could supply me that doesn't suffer this Puma 6 terribleness? I know the later Hitron modem wasn't a big hit and surfing these forums I also know it's also a damned Puma 6 device... I would love to get hold of one of the new SurfBoard Modems to use with a nice 3rd party router.
