:pShaw has come a long way in meeting our expectations. Phone support (from Shaw) - excellent. Installation/tech support - excellent. Contract price description - needs work (describing year two in layman's language).
Long time Shaw customer with a two year switch to Telus because of "price creep." 2015 - A phone call from Shaw brought us back with a more favorable package and the gateway modem. At the time Telus could not supply suitable internet and the land line (Telus) was $37 month. Nov 2017, Price creep had started with Shaw, but we were eligible for a promotion centred around Blue Sky TV - Combined Internet, TV and home phone: Year one: $96. plus tax. Year two: $130.+ (year two description is a bit convoluted (but are we surprised). Shaw Phone is VOIP with no problems. BONUS: Six month of free Netflick.
.
We love Blue Sky. My wife does not like learning new channel's but the voice activation system is a BIG game changer. Shaw has packaged "the Themes" into a manageable channel listing (kind of) with the lowest number 101 continuing up into the 500's. They also have a "subscribed" feature to remove some (but not all) unsubscibed channels. HD is automatically selected with SD channel's going wide screen (not my favorite). "Themes" were worked well for us. No external devices for Netflick and a Winter test drive for Crave TV (which looks very good). Oh, did I mention: I REALLY LIKE THE BLUE SKY REMOTE.
Internet Speed test: 173.9 down. 15.69 up. No problems with "hitron" modem and I'm not too concerned about a proposed Shaw WiFi link to support Shaw's Cell phones. We don't know a lot of details but as long as they are protecting our privacy I will give then the benefit of doubt. If it is going to improve performance and PRICING for Cell phone users, I'm game.
