[BC] Connect via HDMI, component automatically disable? DCX 3400

I'm using the HDMI from my Motorola DCX 3400 to connect to TV, can I still use the component output from the DCX 3400 or the component output is automatically disabled while using HDMI? Thanks. P/s reason for this question is I'm thinking of buying the Hauppauge 1512 HD-PVR 2 High Definition Personal Video Recorder.
