[BC] Shaw renewed my contract without notice...

In 2016 I singed up for the 150 internet promo. Then 1 year later they dropped the price so I called them up. The guy gave me some discounts to bring my service in line with the current prices. This year I knew my contract was up, and my terms under my Shaw profile say my contract ends July 15, 2018, so I called in to either renew or cancel because Telus has 300/300 promo. The lady says I am in contract for another year. I said my contract is under my profile and it says 2018. She says 1 year ago I called in and it was renewed until 2019. I said in no way did I agree, I had only asked for my fees to be inline with the current prices. So she offers me a slight reduction, but I decline and ended the phone call. I honestly never agreed to renewing my contract. Is this a common practice with Shaw? I've been with them so long that I never encountered it, but if I cant dispute it, then I'd even be willing to just pay the cancellation fee to rid myself of them.
