I just switched to Shaw Internet 150 and I've been getting a lot of bad ping spikes when playing online games.
When I'm playing something like overwatch my ping is around usually around 50-60ms, but like once every 30min or less I'll get at least one big spike up to 300-500ms that will last around 10-15 seconds, and in the worst cases I just get disconnected from the game.
It also happens in simple online web games like slither.io, where it'll run fine for a while and then it'll just lock up for a good 10-15 seconds.
This is happening on both my laptop (WiFi and ethernet) and desktop (ethernet).
I didn't have any of these problems on the Telus Internet 25 service I just switched from.
What can I do to try and diagnose this problem? I know there have been problems with Puma6 modems, but I thought the XB6 wouldn't be affected as badly since it's a Puma7 chip.
Also, I don't know if this is normal or not, but in the modem settings, in the Shaw Network page, under the Downstream channel table, I only have indexes 2 to 13 locked. 1 and 14-32 are all listed as NotLocked/UNSUPPORTED. I've attached a screenshot of the full table.
