I'm trying to provide remote help to someone who upgraded to the BlueCurve service from a setup with ancient Shaw boxes. (I'm working from photos, hence some uncertainty.)
The new BlueCurve internet is working (340 down; 20 up); next step is sorting out the mess of coax splitters and boosters that are entangled with an Arris TM502 Digital Phone Terminal (?) that is providing 2 phone lines.
Basically the coax splits into 3 main branches: phone (Arris box), internet (BlueCurve), and TV coax to rooms.
Q1: Should the new BlueCurve box also now provide the phone service? Or do they need to continue to split the coax line into BlueCurve for internet and Arris for phone?
Q2: There is a signal booster ( http://www.signalboosterstore.com/Products/MotorolaBDA-K1.htm ) in the coax branching. I notice it is an active return amp. Is this booster likely to cause internet problems? Does its position in all the coax branching matter?
Thanks!
