With the recent changes that really were expected eventually after the takeover and better package deals else-ware; it is coming time to leave the Rogers/Shaw system completely. Something I have not had a hand in for many years but now have multiple family members wanting to do (and some quickly due to the big annoying red full screen 2 minute terror messages on older equipment that rogers would not let anyone upgrade in the first place when asked multiple times since the buy-out unless they went under contract again and paid rental instead of paying upfront like Shaw used to allow, so owning the equipment)
1. Is there anyone that has done this recently or tech support people that can answer on the best method and timing of cancelling services? I do not get much of a definite answer off the rogers website.
2. Do we need to give multiple weeks' of warning or can we do a couple days before the payment dates or do they give money back if you only use 1 week past previous bill?
3. Is there an easy way to schedule a couple days past the day I know I will be switching their equipment to the new provider?
4. Is there any difference if one household only has cable TV with them while another has TV/Phone/Internet?
* None of them have been under any contract for years - they all pay full price when upgrading services. But I am additionally curious if there is any difference for cancelling as mixed accounts not JUST original Rogers customers as all were Shaw customers before the buy-out so could there be extra 'gotchas'.
Hopefully someone has some knowledge on this and that it also helps people searching in the near future.
Thank you
