Brownfield fibre

This is more of a question to the Shaw tech that hang out here, but is there any plans to convert to FTTH in established communities like Telus is? I know coax has much more life in it than phone lines but eventually it will be required and I am just curious if this is a 5-10 year thing or more like a 15-20 year thing.
