Shaw 1gbps?

I remember a while back there was talk about shaw 1gbps but it never happened. Now there is this page on their website: https://www.shaw.ca/fibreplus/ where they mention "In fact, we're already upgrading our network for the next wave of Internet technology (DOCSIS 3.1) – one capable of delivering Internet speeds of over 1 Gbps." Anyone know anything more about this?
