I'm an old guy. 28, but unfortunately, thats celcius. My wife and I love channel 422. Or should we say we did. A couple of months ago this "easily listeneng" channel staarted playing some awful nonsense. Part Jazz, part ??? All the lovely stuff that was there was replaced with this nonsense. Night before last and last night they reverted to the wonderful sound. tonight we are back to the drivel. Who can I contact and how do I do it to express our extreme dissapointment?

[BC] Nelson shaw customers overpaying for something they can'tge

If you go to speedtest.net info for Nelson, their data suggests several thousand unique IP addresses used for statistics. Avg speed around 5 Mbps. Why do I pay them for 20, I never see it, apparently no one else does either! Why is Nelson so slow and the consumer is being ripped OFF! see link below for data. http://www.netindex.com/download/4,19550/Nelson/

Anyone know the streaming limits on a single account? I've heard you can stream on two devices at once, but only if one is on a movie and other is on a TV series. Ran into a problem few weeks ago, never had a chance to figure out if the limit on the account had been hit.

[BC] Switched to Shaw to the 25mbps Plan, What Should I Expect?

Hi all, I was tired of overpaying with Telus and having $5 price increases every other month. So I finally made the switch to Shaw. I already had cable TV with Shaw but now I have all 3 services with them. Got a good bundle price and some nice bonuses. Though I'd try them out for a few months to see if I like it. My plan includes 25mbps Internet, Basic phone and Personal TV. Which comes to around $120/month not including tax. So what speeds should I expect during the day with Shaw internet? Full 25mbps speeds? I heard that during peak hours you are lucky to even reach about 5 or 10. Also, Shaw is providing me with a modem/router. From what I've heard form others, apparently these ISP provided modems/routers are crap. Any recommendations for a good/decent router under $30? I just need a simple plug-and-play router. Nothing fancy like firmware modding...etc. If it helps, we have 3 computers, and various WiFi enabled devices. If Shaw doesn't work out, I'll probably move to Teksavvy. PS. I'm in Richmond, BC. Thanks!

Hey im in Surrey BC Guildford area and i have been with Shaw for about 3 months on this address with NO issues at all. Today March 27 at 9:07 my BB50 plan can only do 1Mbps down ?!?! Is shaw doing some kind of maintenance in my area ? It's extremely slow and as you can see my PING is outstanding, my upload is maxed. Only the download is limited by SHAW. What's going on ? http://www.speedtest.net/result/2603903200.png ps: I just reset my modem and router. Im getting only 2 Mbitps down now...

I'm using the HDMI from my Motorola DCX 3400 to connect to TV, can I still use the component output from the DCX 3400 or the component output is automatically disabled while using HDMI? Thanks. P/s reason for this question is I'm thinking of buying the Hauppauge 1512 HD-PVR 2 High Definition Personal Video Recorder.

I normally check my usage once in a while under https://my.shaw.ca/CustomerCentre/ , Internet menu (not that I ever use close to my limit). But now it's gone. Temporary glitch? Shaw ditching usage tracking? Decided to drop it for my account for some reason?

[AB] requesting BB 250 for Shaw when it is available in my area

Like most of the people here, I am waiting for the network upgrade to be done in my area. I have heard originally the upgrade was to be completed by the third week of March 2013 as I had received an email from Shaw stating that the upgrade was beginning soon (the mailed letter was send around the middle of February 2013). I checked with Shaw in the community message center and was told that my area (based on address) had been delayed after only starting the network upgrade this week March 25, 2013 because Shaw ran out of the required hardware to complete the network upgrade. I chatted with a different Shaw support person over the online chat last night, March 28, 2013 and was told that the upgrade was being done as of this week, again March 25, 2013 to April 1, 2013 depending on who you believe. I am not sure when the upgrade will be done but I did inquire about the BB 250 once the upgrade is done. The interesting fact was this: According to the person I chatted with online last night said there were not that many requests for BB 250 and the actual upload speed for BB 250 was not 15 mb but rather 5 mb and was only available in places such as Chestimere, AB rather than anywhere in Calgary. I asked what the network upgrade would do for me and what was the fastest speed available in my area with or without the network upgrade and I was told the best I can do for now is BB100. What I want to know is this, is anyone requesting BB 250 from the dls reports site. Have you been able to get BB 250 speed after the network upgrade and or what do we have to do to get BB 250 if and when the network upgrade is completed. Regards, Edward Letendre

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r28005009-what-do-these-mean- i posted that a while back but it wont let me post in it again so im making a new thread. after doing what was suggested it worked for a bit but started happening again. it wasnt a big deal though as it was only a little, but these last few days its been terrible so i turned the settings on again to detect it in the logs i.imgur.com/YDOMEVY.jpg it goes: Description Count Last Occurence Target Source the ones i covered were my actual ip. pretty much anything i try to do on my internet browser just takes forever to load or just has a connection fail(even going to my modem settings) but games work fine... league of legends, steam games, teamspeak, skype, vent and more.. pretty much anything that doesnt require me to use firefox/chrome works fine

[BC] Broadband 100+ sucks; Shaw customer service sucks worse

We have recently received calls from the Shaw bandwidth police. They suggested that we upgrade to a higher internet plan. As we were regularly exceeding our cap (Extreme, 200 GB cap, 25 Mbps DL), I agreed that it was time to upgrade to Broadband 100+ (750 GB cap; 100 Mbps DL). Today I swapped our old modem for the new modem+router combo (I was told by the bandwidth police that the old modem could not handle broadband speeds), hooked it up, and immediately ran a speed test. Typical results were as follows: Contacted Shaw. Justin #7778 said the in-store representative forgot to reset my modem. He reset my modem and said I should be good to go. I was not. Marshall #7965 reset the modem again. Speeds still sucked. He passed me on to Ken #7779 who also reset my modem. lol. He then had me do a speed test by having me connect my computer directly to the modem with an Ethernet cable. That did the trick--speed test showed that my speeds were at Broadband 100+ level. Kenny seemed proud of himself: Ken #7779 (15:50:24): Ok. Ken #7779 (15:50:26): Great. Ken #7779 (15:50:33): The true speed test must be done directly via cable. Ken #7779 (15:50:51): Through wireless, you're not going to get the 'actual' speed. Ken #7779 (15:50:59): Anything else for today? Oh, no he didn't! He actually tried to DISMISS me like he had resolved my problem?! Shaw Account (15:53:18): lol... then what is the point of the modem+router that shaw now offers? Especially when these days most everyone connects wirelessly? Shaw Account (15:53:26): that is strange........ Shaw Account (15:54:02): you mean to say that i will pay for broadband100+ speeds, but will only get extreme speeds which is what i have been getting all along? Ken #7779 (15:54:45): What you must also check is your wireless network card to ensure that it is capable of receiving speed of beyond 25mbps. Shaw Account (15:54:55): it is. this is a new computer. Ken #7779 (15:54:57): There are some network cards that max out at specific limit. Ken #7779 (15:55:01): You'll need to check the specs. Ken #7779 (15:55:06): (even though it's a new comp) Shaw Account (15:55:13): lol... Ken #7779 (15:55:16): It sounds like that might be case. Shaw Account (15:55:34): you said i can never get true broadband speeds unless i connect directly? Shaw Account (15:55:39): now you are blaming the network card......... Anyway, Ken was useless and closed the chat on me. Another representative, Brayden #9852, tried to help me. He had these nuggets of wisdom: Brayden #9852 (16:22:36): It's like if you purchased a car that was sold to you as being able to go 200KM/h, which it certainly can do on the highway etc, but when you take it on an old dirt road you won't get the same speed. Brayden #9852 (16:26:25): We are providing you with what you are paying for, it's just that if you'd like to use that technology over wireless it won't go as fast. If you do a search online for this issue, you'll find tons of people in your same shoes. It's a limitation of the technology itself, wifi is not designed to be able to handle speeds like that without specialized equipment Brayden #9852 (16:30:02): I've set up networks for quite a few small businesses, and have worked with this equipment before, but it's not really consumer grade, it's more commercial grade and priced accordingly so. Anyway, he tried to blame walls, cordless phone chargers, distance and on and on... and then said: Brayden #9852 (17:46:29): You're getting the correct speeds wired, so it's really up to you if you want to change your plan to the slower speed. You'll be exceeding the bandwidth limits even more if you go to the lower plan, and you won't get the Broadband 100 speeds wired in. RIDICULOUS!!!

I've been using them for years without any problems but I've started getting errors. A couple of weeks ago I started getting errors about needing a password but it would still download normally.
